eBook Installer (for publishers; source code and project for BlackBerry)

For eBook publishers who don't have time to write an installer app. Can also be used to distribute other simple files such as wallpapers.

Wrapper for eBooks so they can be distributed as BlackBerry apps. Publisher must enter attributes in the Java project provided (no coding knowledge required), then build it to create the installer app.

The installer
1. Requests any missing permissions it needs,
2. Offers a button to download the free MobiPocket (or other) Reader if it's not already installed,
3. Installs or re-installs the book in eBooks on media card,
4. If installation failed, offers a button to download the eBook from the vendor's server, which the user will have to save in eBooks,
5. Offers a button to delete the eBook Installer after the book itself has been installed,
6. Offers a Support button that automatically creates a support email in this format:

From: (default email)
To: (vendor email)
Subject: eBook Installer Support - (Bookname)

Please assist with installing eBook (Bookname) on BlackBerry (model) with OS (version).

- eBook Installer error: (error)
- (Attempted / Did not attempt) to install reader using provided link.
- (Attempted / Did not attempt) to download book directly from (vendor)'s server.

1. BlackBerry Java Development Environment (JDE) versions 4.3.0 and 4.7.0
2. Both JDE's set up with RIM developer keys, per the instructions that came with the keys.
