Default Developing on 64bit Windows 7?

I am having a time trying to get any of the JDEs or eclipse to work right. Is there anything I can use to develop blackberry apps on a Windows 7 64bit system, or am I going to have to wait for a new version of the tools?

I had the same problem last year with the JDE on 64bits. The JDE wont run properly with some of the java components.

I use the JDE (multiple versions) just fine on Win7 x64. What problem are you having?

I'm running on Vista so I'm not sure, but have you tried a 32-bit JVM on your machine rather than 64-bit?

I've had issues with 64-bit JVMs in the past not being fully compatible with some programs.

I am running the eclipse plugin and simulators (along with MDS) on Windows 7 x64. The only issue I have is that the simulator window will not close on its own, I need to either disconnect the debug session (if debugging) or go to task manager and kill fledge.exe.

I also recommend the advice above about installing the 32bit java. Some programs had problems running the x64 bit version. If you are only developing bb apps it shouldn't really matter if you use the 32bit version anyways.

I also am using the latest eclipse (downloaded a day or two ago) along with the plugin from RIM (Also downloaded at the same time).

Good Luck!

What about running a 32 bit guest in a VM?

I have no problem, but I use Javaloader to try the app, and not the simulator (you can't close it on a 64 bits OS, you've to run Task manager and kill it)
