Hi All! This is a quick heads up that Icicle for the Z10 has gone live on BlackBerry World. Details for the PlayBook version are here.

Appname: Icicle - A Downloader for YouTube Videos
    Price: $ 2.99
Appworld Link: BlackBerry World - Icicle - Downloader for YouTube
    Summary:
Icicle allows you to save YouTube Videos to your Z10 for offline viewing later. Browse YouTube videos on your Z10 browser, then click the "Share" button and select Icicle. The video URL is then sent automagically to Icicle which will, in most cases, allow you to download. I say most cases because there are still some copyrighted videos that cannot be downloaded.
    Tips:

    • If you do decide to buy this, first off, thank you! Next, please make sure you permit Icicle to access your Shared folder. You will receive a notification requesting access on the first run of this application. Please make sure you say "Allow" the app to access your Shared drive. It needs to do this because it has to save videos to the folder.
    • Videos are saved directly to the "Videos" folder on your BlackBerry Z10. You need to open your media player on the Z10 to view these videos.

    Hi everyone!

I wanted to tell you guys that I've just submit an update for Icicle for Z10 with one feature that I think all of you will like: the ability to download almost all videos (including music videos) that were otherwise restricted for download! Keep an eye out for release 1.0.0.421 of Icicle (free upgrade) to hit BlackBerry world. I just pressed the submit button, so you may have to wait until the release is approved. Playbook users sit tight, an update will be submitted to BlackBerry world later today. Bye for now!

    Thanks @ sheran,
Before i jump into downloading your app, i had a question? Does these videos download to my device memory or card memory? if it is downloading to my device memory? is there any way to direct my downloads to the memory card? I will be waiting for your reply.
    Thanks,
    Raam

Perfectly valid point! I have added a toggle button that allows you to save to either device memory or to SDCard.

Hi what about the option of converting videos to mp3 or simply saving a video to mp3

This is in the roadmap, but to be very honest, it isn't going to make an appearance in the near term. I still have to figure out the best possible path to extract the audio tracks from the downloaded files.

I might consider buying it when/if you sort the ability to save videos as mp3.

My App was pulled from BlackBerry World. I'm going to get in touch with them to figure out how best to resolve the issue. I'm sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.

Thanks, but could it be the cache? When I check the product page its all empty. I've written to them in the hopes of at least getting it back before my last release. This sucks :'-(

Yeah, its gone for me as well. I used the link that I originally posted. The app state reverted to "Send for Review" so I know it's been pulled.

Maybe it hasn't been removed in all BlackBerry World app stores yet. Not showing in Canada.

From tube mate site, they were not allowed into the Play store because of the some reason I guess, www.tubemate.net, download the PlayBook version which works fine on the BlackBerry 10
