A little bit of relevant information first: my brother has an unlocked Galaxy Tab 3G P7500. He's on the Telus network. I am on the T-Mobile USA network. TMO phones can't use Telus' 3G network. He wants to tether his tablet to his Telus SIM.
If I send him a T-mobile frequency Android phone so that he can create a Wi-Fi hotspot for tethering, will he get 3G speed on his tablet? I was thinking since the phone isn't the end 3G user, it shouldn't matter if it can go on Telus' 3G, as long as the tablet can. He thinks since the phone isn't capable of 3G, the tablet won't pull 3G either. What do you guys think?
