Why Android gets slower and laggy by time and even after a factory reset it doesn't ever perform as it once did out of the box?

And can BlackBerry do something to avoid this from happening if they ever will make their own Android powered phone?

Edit: I mean Android phones, not Android apps on BB

What OS are you running and on what device?

My bankapp (android) start up quicker than on an Android S6 and that is fun

YOU tell me what phone you are using and OS that there's no lags. I would really consider it if things go nasty

And how old is your phone?

I use all OSes, and Android is one of the most fluid. I can't speak for all situations, obviously, but I have no patience for lag, especially since I require my daily driver to do a whole lot of things. In the interest of full disclosure, few of my Android devices are stock.

Newer versions of Android are much better than older ones with regards to reducing the need for cache cleanups.

This thread is a little confusing. I will say I don't have lag issues on my Nexus 6. But I didn't really any on my Z10 either. Maybe some but not much and certainly not enough for it to be an issue. I think Android manages itself better now than in the past but my Nexus 5 didn't have lag either so what do I know.

My experience is that sometimes I go to open an android app and it opens and displays splash screen in a few seconds. Other times, the 30 second screen times out one or more times before it opens. Progress bar is slow as molasses.

Usually, a reboot gets it fast again. It's annoying, because it seems to happen right when I really can't deal with the wait and works fine when I have all the time in the world.

It's poor garbage collection in the OS.

Also being so open source every app wants it's hooks onto the runtime, so all that junk it trying to run at the same time.

Sorry if it wasn't clear. I mean Android phones, they tend to get sluggish and laggy by time.. I was wondering why

I've not had that experience on any modern Android device, but I'm overly fastidious too.

I don't experience lag either. Now days even your most entry level Android at least has a quad core processor capable of running the phone smoothly.
