For those that ordered an Incredible or DX while they have been backordered, did Verizon charge your credit card right away, or wait until the phone shipped?

I ordered a Droid X on 8/16, and just checked, they charged my credit card the same day, but it hasn't shipped yet. It was my understanding they aren't supposed to charge the card until the device actually ships.

Most places usually wait until it ships to charge the card, don't know about VZW though as I charged mines to the monthly bill.
