Torch 9800---->HTC Android
Hi Crackberry,
I would just like to say thankyou for all the help that you've brought me the past few months with my Blackberries. I might be moving to Android as seeing I am USAF and in the UK. In dire need of a free texting app that I dont see for Blackberry anytime soon so moving to Android will give me this to talk to my friends and family in the states. You all have been a big help. I love my Torch to pieces and am happy to know my girlfriend will be happy with it too. - 12-18-2010, 05:45 PM #2
And the flame war begins....
Cell Phone History:Motorola Bag phone > Motorola Star Tac gen1 > Motorola Star Tac gen 2 > Motorola Razr > BlackBerry Pearl(8110) > Iphone gen1 > BlackBerry Curve(8310 Red) > BlackBerry Torch(9800 Black) > BlackBerry Torch II(9810 Gunmetal Silver) > BlackBerry Bold 9900) > BlackBerry Z10(STL100-3 Black)

KIK had a lot of possibility. Too bad cause it would have been a great cross platform service if RIM didn't ax them. Good luck with your Android, just to be honest, don't spend too much time away from your charger cause the battery isnt as great as BlackBerry. Nothing to worry about if you got a cozy desk job, sucks if your on the flight line.

Yeah KIK woulda been a great option. I have it on my iTouch. Im not permanently moving away from Blackberry. My girlfriend has a 9300 and she's busted that thing up to no end. (Both Military) She wanted to get a new phone and wanted a Torch so I compromised her to take mine if she bought me an HTC Desire HD. So I get that and her 9300 which I can reconstruct with a new body and still has OS 6.
I dont wanna give up my Torch but I need to keep up with the folks at home.

if you have a data plan there are several options with the BB that would be free. If the people you want to talk to can only do SMS that is a different story. But with aim, gtalk, yahoo messenger etc none of those use SMS and would only use data

yeah its SMS that I need. WhatsApp works for other smartphone users but not everyone I know has one. I use the TextNow app on my iTouch but I will never buy an iPhone as long as I live.
