Wasn't aware "Android" was a device, lol. :P You'll need to consider keyboard/non keyboard among a slew of other things just simply hardware wise let alone software wise. In the end, most who make the switch are happy..but, some folks return back to BlackBerry. Never really know until ya try.
Galaxy in my opinion isn't going to be that major because of its maker samsung. Most people are leaning away from the x because u can't load custom roms on it but since your new to android that won't be a problem. Also the galaxy s isn't comming to verizon till after the summer.
