When is this used? I thought that it would allow you to have the phone *read* your emails and such to you outloud, but I can't really see how to activate it.
Does anyone know how/when this is used (other than while it is telling you where to go in Navigation)?
go to the market and get the "drive safe.ly" app. it will read aloud text messages and emails. does a decent job, too. the free version will only read 25 words and only offers one (female) voice option.

Yup. Pretty pricey. I've just been using the free version and it works well enough for the simple SMS messages. I think they have some kind of deal that if you recruit 25 fans via Facebook then you automatically get a lifetime subscription. Not sure if they're still offering that or not.
