Early adoption does make me nervous. Sorry about all your glitches. I've had my share with my 9630!

Not to mention I use my phone for texting and send/receive close to 1,000 messages a day.

In my next phone I am looking for a communication device, I don't need all the android applications but what I do need is a physical keyboard.

The leaks of the new Blackberry Apollo are looking pretty nice right now

Why would someone need a guide just because they switched from one platform to another?

Just jump in and enjoy. Especially if you already have a particular phone already in mind.

It's just going from one phone to another.

However there's are some helpful tips to make the tradition smoother. Transferring contacts for example. That's a big one. Many of us have a lot of information stored on our smart phone. Going to another BlackBerry is easy. Just use DM to transfer all data. Going to another platform requires some forethought and planning and some helpful advice.

There are tips for parallel BlackBerry & Android apps. Very handy to know so that I can find similar apps that I used on my BlackBerry, on the Android side. Using Google Talk instead of BBM for instance.

Using Google Sync to get ones BlackBerry contacts and calendar up into the cloud so that they will easily download in an Android is a great tip!

But that's just me. I love to learn by research and reading as well as experience. That's why I love reading these forums.

Well I had no problems going from BlackBerry to Android. I guess that's just me.

Then you wouldn't need a guide. No problem there. Skip the link.

Oh I never looked at the link. I just saw the title and was just asking why would anyone need a guide when they switch platforms, that's all.

I've torn down my phone more than I care to count. But, I did learn a lot.

That's what I do. When I get a new phone, I'm all over it. That's how I like to learn everything about my phone.

When I first got my Storm, back in '09, it was my first BB. I was breaking it down the whole weekend. By Monday morning I was a genius. (at least to my co-workers that had the Storm as well lol)

Then when I dropped my Storm for the last time and got a Droid, I had no issues changing over and I dove head first into it.

I'm with you on this, Chrisy. I need to do a ton of research first and learn all I can before I jump in. Thank you for including the link

I'm on tmo and I'm not 100% thrilled with the android options there, (I would have loved the Droid x) but will probably go with the My touch4g, though, I hate the branding and look of it from the back. The Vibrant is a looker too, and then tomorrow will go find the Nexus S to play with- despite some of the negative reviews.

I did love my BB's and I secretly felt like a genius just for knowing how to update software-duh. - my brain isn't really hardwired for all the tech speak, so I need all the guides I can.

Depends on what your using the device for!! I had an adroid phone and it was just a battery hog and would lock up a whole lot! Do your research!

That's what I'm doing now. My BlackBerry 9630 is so slow so I'm hoping for more speed and a great browser. In addition to email and messaging.

Here something I'm trying that o haven't read about. I use the Bolt browser on my BlackBerry and have a lot of URLs saved there. You can backup the favorite on Bolt and export it using Bolt Space to a file. I exported the Bolt Favorites list to my SD card.

From there I'm not sure how to load it onto an Android phone. I'm still working on that.

It's saved as a .bff file. Does anyone know what that is?
