Default Switching from BlackBerry to Android Guide

As I'm preparing to make the switch from BlackBerry to Android I've been doing A LOT of reading, questioning and research. Here's a great article I came across on AndroidCentral. There's also a mobile site m.androidcentral.com.

Jumping From BlackBerry To Android? Here's What You Need To Know

Helpful tips in there!

One of the keys is that if the menu button doesn't have an option you want, long press on the screen on the thing you're trying to manipulate, chances are that will bring up an additional context menu.

Another key is to prepare to have good web browsing.

Great tip, thank you! Yes! I'm looking forward to a "different" browsing experience than the BlackBerry offers.

Yep! There is a learning curve but I personally think it's easier than Blackberry's learning curve. Have fun!

Forget all the bad habits BB has taught you... Don't pull the battery on an Android device unless it's a last resort, don't become obsessed with Apps and processes running in device memory, and no need to reboot your device after installing apps.

OT, Chrisy520, weren't you a mod before?

I was a mod here for a year and a half. I retired.

And the one thing I am concerned about with Android is multi tasking. Another mod on here told me there is no app switcher on Droid. I do like that about BlackBerry. How do you switch from app to app then?

If you hold the home button it brings up the most recently used apps.

This works, and you can always just press Home and open any app from an icon on your homescreen or app drawer.

Great, thanks. Other than what I asked, I am happy with all I am hearing about Android.
