The sad thing is, that for those who bought the Hero on the day of release will now have to wait 6 months before their device performs properly. I bought my Hero in February and was told that the issues would be fixed sometime in March. I thought that was a very long time to wait. Now we are hearing that the update isn't coming until mid-May. I couldn't wait. I had to dump it. It will be nice when it comes, but some of us premier customers would have been half way to being eligible for another upgrade by then. They really dropped the ball on the Hero. It could have been a hgreat device if it wasn't plagued with so many issues for so long.

The Hero is a decent phone but it's not a high end Android phone like the Droid or Nexus and it runs Sense UI hence the slow update.

Now the update is being pushed back to June. That's so bad. It will be eight months into the phone's existence before it gets an update that allows the device to perform as it should.

This is what happens when your phone runs Sense UI out of the box. Just look at the other Sense UI Android phones.

I think it is so sad that it is taking this long to update the OS for the Hero. I bought a Hero in february, and was told that the update was coming in the next month. That was too long for me to wait to have my device perform the way it is supposed to. But I think about the people who bought one back in October. Now they are saying that the update will come close to June. That means that Hero user who bought it on release day will have to wait 8 months before their device performs the way it should. Furthermore, if you are a premier customer like I am, you are eligible for an upgrade every year. So if you are a premier customer that got your Hero on release day, you will only have the luxury of using a fully functional Hero for four months before you are able to move on to something else. 4 months. That's insane.

I bought a Hero right after it came out too. It had potential to be a really great phone... but I only kept it about two months. Mine had problems that I couldn't just work around... like it froze whenever I tried to delete text messages. The worst problem was that every time I turned it off and then back on, it would resend random (OLD) text messages to people. Sometimes ten at a time. That was really inconvenient, I was always having to explain to people why I sent them gibberish.

If they had released this update a couple of months ago I would have kept the phone. Oh well.
