Question Samsung Galaxy Note. Is 5.3 inches too big?

I think this hybrid device is going the way of the Keyocera Echo. It has many great interesting features but I don't see this device being in demand when released. Regardless of it's size it's still an awesome device. As for me, I wouldn't go no bigger than 4.3. as far as a mobile device. Your thoughts?

I would like to handle one to see. As long as it fit in my pocket, I'd love a larger screen! I use a 4.3 now.

Thread title should have been "Does Size Matter"

Hehe..anyways..i'm definately eager to check this thing out (if I ever get to that is)..I think it could definately work. Obviously not everyone is going to want to carry around a "mini-tablet"..but for something that is probably going to be only 2.5-3cm bigger corner to corner than my current phone..I could definately see myself using one. It would still easily fit in jeans pocket..and the larger display would make using GPS in the vehicle, e-reading, browsing, etc all that much more enjoyable imo. Plus that 2500mAh battery is definately enticing.

It's rather on the large side, but I wouldn't have to carry around my tablet as much.

I feel the same way. For a standalone device, 4.3 is enough. This is way too big
to be practical for me. Awesome f'ng device though.

Does anyone know if this device offers full disk encryption? I'm not too familiar with the Android OS.

IMO it is too big....Say you want a case on it, the thing might as well be a tablet with a radio antenna in it. I am sure it would sell to certain demographic, but overall I can see it as a supped up Dell Streak like the other posts said. I still would check it out, but not for me. 4.3 is as big as I would go. I actually think my 3.8" is the perfect size.

Then again I am Coming from a BB 9700.

Too big for a phone, too small for a tablet.

I agree with kbz. My phone needs to be more mobile and it isn't big enough to adequately replace my tablet.

I am loving the Galaxy Nexus screen, but even that is really big. There is absolutely no way I would be able to use the Note comfortably. I think it is too big unless someone really wants a tablet/smartphone mix.
