Hi so I rooted my Samsung galaxy s 2 when I got it so I can unlock it to use with my network provider. I hear rooting brings a lot of fun though. What else can I do with my rooted phone ???

Besides allowing you access to root only apps like wifi tether, rooting will allow you to install custom roms such as Cyanogenmod 7.

You can use utilities like Titanium Backup to make a backup of all your apps and system settings.

You can freeze or delete pre-installed apps (aka bloat). Freezing is usually preferable since you can always add the apps back in.

Some devices require rooting to take screen shots.

I use an app called Keyboard Manager to automatically switch keyboards based on orientation. In portrait mode, Swype is used, while SwiftKey X is set for landscape mode.
