LG sells 15.4 million smartphones in Q1 2015, records revenue of $3.27 billion | Android Central

"The healthy growth in sales figures makes this*LG's best-ever first-quarter in terms of revenues. The manufacturer's overall shipments for Q1 2015 totaled 15.4 million, slightly lower than the 15.5 million managed*last quarter. Sales from North America increased by an impressive 66 percent from Q1 2014,..."

Yeah, looks like LG is just having such a hard time. BlackDroid can't come fast enough. And Android is the app solution that Chen is talking about.

Yep the whole "no one's makes money on android but Samsung" was always a load of crap. If you make compelling devices and get them on carrier store shelves ( I am looking at you Sony) you will make money.

Samsung, LG, HTC, and Motorola all have one thing in common. Each of those companies have halo flagship devices available on all the major carriers.

Its pretty bad when a company that is known for making TV's and fridges can out sell a phone maker in cell phone sales. My god things are bad a Blackberry.

The original Viewty was serious competition for the iPhone and they adopted a very aggressive strategy in the following years. This largely damaged their reputation because the devices were a shadow of what the original Viewty was in terms or performance and build quality. However it's not going to be a surprise to anybody in the industry that LG are starting to turn it around with the G series (which are relatively impressive phones).

With a whopping 2% operating profit to boot. Not sure what was actually made after taxes and other expenses on those sales.

LG has been making phones longer than BlackBerry...
And the berry Droid would be useless. People don't want BlackBerry regardless of the OS.

Yes, they increased sales of phones 26% to get a measly 2% profit margin.

That's not entirely true, Android is simply a more popular model/ ecosystem right now and to claim that nobody wants BlackBerry is a little strong in my books... Remember lessons learned from history; consumer styles come and go... what's Hot today may very well be sidelined a few years from now and vice versa... what's old today may very well be tomorrows New Hot item!!

Define "people". Because a BlackBerry Android would be designed as an end-to-end solution for enterprise clients who are not interested in BB10.
