I can tell you're not familiar with phone hardware. The P8 uses Huawei's own Octo-core ( 8 total in big.LITTLE configuration of 4 cores each). The smaller 4 cores run less demanding tasks and then if you do something that takes more power say like gaming it switches to the 4 faster cores like switching gears.

Huawei is a hardware company and as often the case, when hardware companies try to modify Android to make it different than others it does a poor job, many reviews of the P8 has noted it made puzzling design choices. Even the reviewer in the vid you posted said the P8 with stock Android would have made it a great phone.
