Default Mail help........

I have the Galaxy S2 and am looking for an email app that will allow me to sync calendar, contacts and tasks but not mail. I have a Yahoo pop acct and a work acct that is set up on Activesync. Its not possible w/native mail app and I tried Enhanced Email and its a no-go as well.

Also, is anyone using Activesync and having trouble seeing mail in sub folders? I can see the folders but nothing is in them. TMO CS said it was because I currently don't have 4G at my home location. I doubt that.

I hope this phone gets configured to the point I am happy w/mail or I'll return it. I'm on my second Galaxy S2.

Could I use gMail to accomplish the above? I set up an acct so I can access the market but never use the mail for anything.

Starting to miss my BB.

first of all, I am a proud owner of SGSII. I using both separated gmail and yahoo app, everything are smooth thru sync without issues..

Second, Yahoo pop is sometime suck. Do you have yahoo mail app on your beautiful SGSII? If not, try download directly the official Yahoo! Mail app from Android Market.

third, How come that you are on your second SGS2? I just curious.

Hope help & G'Luck...

The first one they sent me was an absolute POS w/numerous problems. I have the Yahoo mail app but I don't want to sync mail; just calendar, contacts and tasks. I have not found a solution for that. I have a feeling I can do it through gMail, but I am still searching to find out how.

Also, battery life on this device is really poor so far. I've done the prescribed drains, but still after a week I don't get more than 6 hours of life.

Last night I read the active wallpaper was serious battery drain. I switched it out to a static wallpaper. I left the phone unplugged overnight and this AM it was 75% full. No more active wallpaper.

Not sure if this is possible with any email client. Was this possible with your BlackBerry?

No, I didn't use Enterprise w/my BB. But, I will say the BB was/is an outstanding messaging device.

I think there is a way to sync my Outlook w/gMail and then select what I want to sync w/the device. Kind of a two-step process. I just need to figure it out.

Yea..while visually cool..Live Wallpapers are battery hogs. That's usually step one whenever activating a new Android..change the wallpaper.
