That's sad to hear. We will be here when you come back to blackberry. My boss not an old guy maybe mid thrities got that thing and returned 2 days later. He did not like it, everything seemed complicated. How? I don't know since I never used it but he said it does what you need just not well? He's back to his bold.
And to answer your question! I don't know where to get one but get to it cybermonday deals going on all day today!

I'm not going anywhere, I just know that a bb could be so much more. I love my phone just a little frustrated. BB browser could be the reason my eyes go bad. Lol

I'm a torch user converted from an iphone 3g. As much as I love my bb I honestly think the droid pro is a great device. Super functional, very practical design, good keyboard. As far as sites with deals go you'll have some trouble for another month or two most likely considering it was just released. Keep in mind your bold has been voted one of the best phones ever made multiple times though....you traitor, haha jk jk.

I'm gonna be waiting impatiently for the bb worth upgrading to. Hopefully it won't be an eternity.

Free right now on WireFly as dwaynewilliams pointed out. I've dealt with WireFly in
the past and they were great.

If you get one and learn the OS you will not go back to Blackberry. Android simply does so much more much easier and with far less bugs. I have my Droid X overclocked to 1.3 Ghz, rooted and with a tether program that I used when my land based cable went out for two days. I loved to freedom to mod, the apps, the speed and much less glitches than any Blackberry I every owned.

Seems awfully pointless to make such a sweeping generalization that a Bold user will be back to BB just because your 30 something year old boss couldn't figure it out.
I left Tour (my 2nd BB) mid-September for the Droid 2 and will never go back to BB until their hardware can keep up and until they lose truncated email and provide functionality for viewing my email folders/archived messages natively through BIS.
I wish people who have never personally tried an Android based device would just keep their crap to themselves. I mean how can you even speculate/comment in an intelligent manner about something you've never even tried personally? I would throw folks who play with one in the store for a few minutes and declare it inferior to BB in the same category.
Of course it is going to be different from what you're used to, but I guarantee you didn't learn all there was to know about BB in such a short time either. Just like any new technology, there will be an adjustment period/learning curve, and it seems like many folks don't understand or recognize that, so rather than give it an open minded shot, simply declare it complicated and toss it aside. I have no problem with that either, as it is your choice as to what you prefer. Just don't run around telling everyone it's hard/slower to use/whatever just because you weren't willing to put forth the effort to learn to use it efficiently...
And most of all, if you have no personal experience with it, don't speculate, as it makes you look foolish, especially in the Android section of this website...$ - 11-30-2010, 07:02 PM #16
Lol Sandman, you make that long post and then an Andriod user comes and basically in a single sentence makes the same generalization for the most part...
I always say "to each their own."
I have owned a couple Andriods as some know and messed around on a lot of new ones. Wife still has the mytouch3G as it suits her well.
Just some platforms perform to certain individuals better, that is all.
I have nothing against Andriod users, besides the mindless sheep like the above poster.
With all that said, I still prefer my 9700 phone over just about any. Is it faster, no...but not far off...does it have a big processor, no...it don't need it IMO if it gets the job done...I could go on, but don't want to feed the trolls...
I am just sayin, because a phone has so many bells and whistles, don't automatically make it better then my 9700 and so on and so forth....
Everyone should stop bickering so much and just enjoy the phone they have.

Well, this is the Android forum, not general discussion.
Have to keep in mind also that for us who have chosen Android, we have done so because BB couldn't compete with the devices for the functionality we want/need.
Most of us have tried both devices, which is way different than the poster who was going on second hand speculation from someone elses' experience. We speak from experience with both platforms...$ - 11-30-2010, 08:44 PM #18
Agreed. If, for whatever reason, Android stops fulfilling my needs, I'll look into another platform to replace it. So far, this hasn't been the case.
When a smart phone (no garmin phones don't count) has equally functional navigation built-in; wireless tether easily done; customization up the yin yang; Linux support; etc. I'll look into it.I will never understand these "help me to decide" threads. Actually the other guy didn't mention he used a BB, just have to assume.

I agree the guy that posted that was probably out of line being he is going on speculation...
Also, how much more open source can you get with a BB than changing out OS's, leaked or official and themes and BB is already setup to where you can change fonts and what not....maybe I am missing something as I never rooted my mytouch3G or Cliq as I wasn't daring back then, but BB's can be customized to your liking as well no?
I don't know, trying to learn is all. I am sure someone can school me.

It would be up to those who develop theme building apps for a BB, or Android. Some on the Android front prefer LauncherPro, while others prefer ADW Launcher. I've messed with both, but I'm, personally, more comfortable tweaking LauncherPro.
I've also noticed the BB hybrids don't go as far as Android ROMs do in terms of really customizing the UI. I don't know if that's something inherent in the BB OS infrastructure, or not.I will never understand these "help me to decide" threads. I have had my Incredible for 24 hours. Yes, there is a learning curve and I knew that
before getting it. I haven't used a complete touch screen for over 3 yrs and that has been a little fun getting used to. I am a very patient person and if the mistake gets too bad, I just start over! I really like the text to talk , but I want to get the typing mastered.
They really chose the right name Incredible, because it is just that. A really good customer of mine came into the store today and funny, he asked me when I was going to give in and get Android. I smiled and told him I got the Incredible.
And he took his device out of his pocket and it was an Incredible. He says he is all thumbs but still can text on it. LOL
I am glad I got it. Disappointed though about my first night on it.....Google had issues and I had no internet last night. But it is all good now !
Have an Incredible day !
