I like threads like this. Nobody NEEDS a tablet. I'm assuming everyone has a smartphone and a desktop or laptop. Most people who have a desktop don't need a laptop. My wife didn't NEED her iPad 2 (just like she didn't need her Kindle, which is gathering serious dust 2.5 years later BTW). But she uses it all the time (she's got an iPhone 4S too). It's all about the screen and the OS and easy to use. End of story. There's a reason they dumped the price of the PB. It's called a warehouse full of inventory. There's a reason for that too (try and guess). I haven't seen one but I suspect the Fire is just nice enough to use for some stuff but will always manage to pimp you with ads to buy their gear. And will they support it like Apple supports the iPad? Stay tuned.........
