stock ICS will have screenshot built in i think. But you do need root most other times. I think a few phones were able to do this without root

Yeah, that's something Android users have been clamoring for for quite some time. Thankfully many recent handset manufacturers have recently been adding that feature, and Google finally got around to incorporating it into Android with ICS.

Look for an app called 'no root screenshot it'. Works on my Atrix and Pro+, both of which are not rooted.

No Root Version: https://market.android.com/details?i...Wxsbm9yb290Il0.

Trial Version (Requires Root on some phones, but not Atrix): https://market.android.com/details?i...G90aXRmcmVlIl0.

Paid Version (Requires root on some phones, but not Atrix): https://market.android.com/details?i...b3RpdGZ1bGwiXQ..

My #1 problem with Android is that there are to many devices and all their forums are either confusing...or dead

The ones I visit aren't dead. Head over to Android Central and look in the Verizon Galaxy Nexus forum. It's getting activity like crazy. Someone posted a thread a few days ago, and it has over 45,000 views.

There are apps for screen shots for non rooted devices. Yeah would be nice if all had that native but they don't.

Same with BlackBerry and thew camera mute. Why isn't that native on any device?

Who knows?
