After getting on the phone with Verizon early this morning and convincing them to move my upgrade date from 1/12/10 to now, I ran over to Best Buy and pre ordered the Droid. Compared to the Verizon Rep that I spoke to in a store yesterday, this Best Buy Mobile rep knew much more about the phone. I had to chuckle yesterday when the Verizon Rep told me that nobody knows what the Droid will look like yet and that the leaked pictures online are fakes. Either way, Verizon has made me a happy customer and I can't wait to pick this phone up on Friday!
how did you get them to upgrade early? my upgrade is on 9/14/09 ive called 5 times to ask if the could bump it up 8 days and am always told no. makes me angry. 5 years 4 lines and they cant do me a favor? very frusrtrating.

I just pre-ordered the Droid at Best Buy as well. After 2 years of the BB Pearl, I'm ready to move on. Was going to get the Storm2, but the reviews on the Droid changed my mind. Waiting for Friday..........................................
yeah thats really ****ty of verizon not to move it up 8 days kind of crazy if you ask me, idk what id do if i was in your shoes but i wouldnt be happy, call a few different customer service reps and see if you can get one that will change it for you, tell them you are really into the droid, but if they dont move your date up you may just not renew the contract and goto at&t for the iphone lol...
I really can't wait until Friday. Goodbye Ipod Touch, goodbye Blackberry Curve! I was getting really tired of carrying two devices around with me everywhere I went.
I honestly am sick of my storm and its laginess and constant problems, I really do hope the droid keeps me from pulling out all my hair.
As for the update trick, will try it, I have an upgrade coming on 11/15 but that will be an eternity from 11/6.
If they can't let you upgrade two weeks early but would let me upgrade two months early, something is very wrong. It really just comes down to who you end up getting on the other line when you call Verizon.

agreed thats why im angry. cant figure it out. ive tried atleast 5 times with no luck. ill keep trying every day though
Preordered mine today after work. Number 12 on the preorder list. Got to play with their dummy while waiting. Not bad. Getting more excited everyday. And instant rebate = Win-win. Course, I'll get my car mount and desk dock at VZW so that I can get my discount on accessories.
Haha yeah my yearly upgrade is 12/2/09 and they moved it up for me as well as I complained about my storm being broken. First girl I asked she said they have a "30 day rule that has to be approved by a manager" I called back the next day and the girl made a note saying I was getting an early upgrade. Even called back today to confirm she wasn't lying and the girl confirmed it's in the notes and best buy should have no issues upgrading for me.
