When you compose an email, isn't there an attach button?

Yeah, but it only allows me to pick from the gallery of pictures. I tried sharing it from my files, but the server kicked it back. It must be a limitation of gmail.

It's not a limitiation of Gmail..because I can send pdf's. If anything..try downloading a different file explorer app..such as ESFile Explorer, Root Explorer (although you need to be rooted) or something along those lines. It might be the native file explorer giving you grief..

Yes, like Rickroller said, you need a file explorer for Gmail. Try Astro from the Market. It will let you browse for attachments of any type.

I stand corrected, I can send it from my files, it got kicked back for a different error.

I still don't understand why I can't send pdf files directly from gmail on the phone, but I will deal with the work around. Thank you to all that replied.

If you have a file explorer installed (I use ES File Explorer myself), when you select Attach while composing in gmail, the file explorer should show up as an option as well as Gallery. If it goes straight to your Gallery app without options for file selection methods, that may indicate that your gallery app is set as a default. From the homescreen, got to Menu -> Settings -> Applications -> Manage Applications -> All -> Gallery (or whatever app your device uses for browsing pics) -> Clear Defaults.

I'm not intimately familiar with Samsung phones, so I don't know if your gallery app can be set as a default service.

I have own SGSII and I have no problem to send the email attached PDF from SGSII, no require the specified pdf manager apps..

Just go> application>files>download folder, then find pdf file, hold on it & pop up a dialog, look like this:

click *share*, then email it. thats it.

Thank you, ES file explorer did the trick.
