Same here...lol. I thought maybe there was some sort of incompatibility with the launcher on my S3. But then I noticed the same white bar on another of my phones right after the launcher updated. I thought about sending the dev a message requesting the bar be returned to normal. But then considered it might have been a request of Google to change it to avoid some kind of infringement.

I will probably switch to the GS3 when we're allowed to order them. I bought the EVO LTE 4G because someone stole my Epic Touch. It was recovered (someone tried to activate it and couldn't) and once I pick it up, I'll probably return the E4L. I was happy with 'The Blu Kuban' rom for it.

I finally remembered to do a Quadrant test of my S3. For anyone debating between the One X and S3, this may help push them to the S3.

Well, I got my Samsung Galaxy S3 about an hour ago... and I am absoutely thrilled to bits with it. So much to learn but it's just awesome and is blazing fast.
Wow!
I haven't been able to put it down yet LOL. Once I've had a chance to play around with it I'll post some thoughts and pics. It was so easy to set up my email and it is FAST! I also can't believe how good Whats App looks on the S3... I'll hardly bother with texting at this rate. And email renders beautifully on the big screen...
I was at first apprehensive about the virtual keyboard but using it so far is a breeze (I did turn off predictive though)
All I can say is, it's like a whole new world - and compared to my 9900 it's night and day. It will be a while before I fully customize and get used to it but I can see that's going to be fun!
OK, I'll stop for now

In terms of the build quality, better display (which is LCD by the way), and a much better interface with Sense, the HTC One X would be my choice of phone for anyone in the market for the best Android phones out now.

SwiftKey's also a good choice. You should try that too.

For add-on keyboards, I find Smart Keyboard Pro to be the best. It's highly customizable and theme-able. My favorite them is the Galaxy S theme.

Awesome, thanks for all these suggestions, really appreciate.Going to try them all and see which I like. I still can't get over how cool this platform is... (don't like a particular keyboard? Change it) and to think I haven't even scratched the surface yet, customization-wise...lol. I knew I could probably get used to the virtual keyboard, but already I am typing almost as fast as I was on my physical KB! That is crazy (very nice crazy).
I am now trying to run down the battery so I can drain and recharge it. - 07-06-2012, 03:45 PM #120

I wouldn't use face unlock until you are on Jelly Bean. It is pretty crappy and it's a security nightmare if someone has your picture...
The Jelly bean one tracks for motion and blinking. Much more effective. - 07-06-2012, 05:09 PM #124
I don't think it would be a problem most of the time. The likelihood of some crook being able to get a picture of you and be able to successfully steal your phone at the same time isn't probable. And if you ever lose your phone, whoever finds it wouldn't be able to get past the face unlock because of not having a picture of its owner. For the most part, unless you are a spy or high-profile person who is always in need of high security, the current face unlock will work well and safely.
However, if anyone sees a person snapping a picture of them, be mindful that isn't normal...lol - 07-06-2012, 05:43 PM #125
