HTC One X vs Galaxy S III
These two phones enter the octagon (UFC). Which comes out victorious (and why)?

The hardware is pretty similar so I would say they're both pretty equal in that part. I think the HTC One X looks a lot better than the SGS 3.

And I think the S3 looks better. So there is no winner ..both are great and it all comes down to personal preference.

HTC One X wipes the floor with the GS3. The HTC One X hardware is miles ahead of the cheap plastic look and build of the GS3. Plus the display on the HTC One X is far superior than the GS3 pentile display. Samsung could have done a better job but took the easy and safe way and released a device very similar to it's predecessor. Even though they will sell millions of GS3 they came out short and failed to "wow" this year. Better luck next time.

I'd rather have the One X. I have a Galaxy Nexus and the feel of the One X felt better. The SGS3 is basically the same thing but the plastic is just shinny and cheap looking. The One X felt very nice IMO.
I also do not mind the Pentile screen. I find the screen to be beautiful and only find that spec whores are the ones complaining. I guess these people also hold the device 1 inch from their eyes.Last edited by avt123; 05-17-2012 at 08:38 PM.

Actually it's plastic but polycarbonate (like the Lumia 900) which is a better quality than Samsungs cheap flimsy thin low quality plastic. Also it's solid unibody which is way more sturdier, if that didn't wow you then nothing will. The One X has gotten great reviews by the tech community professional and the average person.

S3 looks like hot trash.
[edit] But I'll probably get it, since they are more dev friendly than HTC nowadays. We'll see.Last edited by Karmaloop; 05-17-2012 at 11:00 PM.

How does plastic interfere with the performance of a smartphone?

Samsung Galaxy S III Video clips
Check out the site's comparison of the SG3 vs the One X. There is also a very thorough review of the SG3. - 05-19-2012, 05:11 PM #11
Nice group of videos.

After reading and watching some comparisons of the two devices, what I took away was that the Samsung might slightly edge HTC in the pure performance department, but the quality of the materials Samsung used to put the phone together are definitely nowhere near what HTC did.
That being said, I believe any Android fan won't go wrong with either device. Choice really comes down to HTC Sense vs Samsung Touchwiz (as has been the case for a few years now). Real world performance between both devices is pretty much identical, only a real stickler for specs can nitpick here.
With all the above being said, if I myself were to pick a device, it would be solely on aesthetics (I own an iPhone and have never used an Android device, so I can't comment on HTC Sense vs Touchwiz) and I would personally choose the HTC One X.
Side Note: I like the look of the HTC One X (global and AT&T versions), I do not like the look of the Sprint EVO 4G LTE.Last edited by Mr. Marco; 05-22-2012 at 12:32 AM.

I just can't believe that they didn't add an SD card slot on the HTC One X device...I was really considering that device until I noticed that..but I still have some time to decide between the 2 since my upgrade isn't until July.

Samsung Galaxy S III review -- Engadget
Engadget gives the edge to the HTC One X (LTE) over the Samsung Galaxy S IIIYes Dude! Yes Dude! Yes Dude! - 05-25-2012, 01:39 PM #16
The Verge also rated the One X (LTE) higher. Decisions..

I know. An SD card is an absolute must for me, so I couldn't even consider the One X when I saw that.
Also the S3 screen is bigger, and I like some of the touchwiz features like smartstay and the picture in picture whatever it's called.

I'd consider a device without an SD card, though I'd rather have one.

Removable, user replaceable battery is a must for me.
I like my Skyrocket A LOT. I will wait and do a side by side comparison. THEN I'll jump....most likely on the SIII.
Then the iPhone 5.
Then BB10 device.
Damn this is going to be an expensive year....

User accessible battery is also preferred, but I would consider a device without one.

If it wasn't for the lack of a card slot on the One X, it would be a serious contender with the SGS3. They both are nearly equal in specs and size, but that SDXC card slot on the SGS3 makes it the one to have. Even though the slot is currently limited to 64GB, the only thing limiting it is software support, not hardware. That means...if 80GBs isn't enough space currently...it can go into the hundreds of GBs with software updates.
I think HTC is screwing up by limiting memory in it's products. - 06-16-2012, 06:36 PM #23
The micro SD slot and the removable battery are definite pluses for the GS3. The unibody construction of the HOX reminds me of Apple. The Nature TouchWiz UXI seems more intuitive than the Sense UI on the HOX. It seems, from the comparison videos on PhoneArena, Android Authority and Heels & Tech, that the camera both still and motion, as well as the UI on the GS3 as well as the virtual keyboard gave the edge to the GS3. It depends upon your personal needs. The GS3 also has Smart Stay and S Beam. S-voice looks a bit more thought out than Siri.

HTC One X vs Galaxy S III
Also the One X seems to have a lot of audio and reception issues according to the android central forums and Kevin's comments on using it so far.
Some are saying that won't connect to car speakers reliably, has problems with dropped calls and an issue with multitasking.
