    I never owned an Android phone before so I do not know what to expect. Are updates done frequently on these type of devices? I believe froyo 2.2 is going to hit the market soon. I believe both phones will be able to update to it, but i need to know if HTC or Samsung are notorious for updating their devices. Or can we upgrade it ourself if there happens to be leak on the internet?

    Red = Cons

    thanks for the heads up, I did not know that..

    If anyone else is interested in it

    As pointed out on xda-developers, there are two versions of the EVO (002 and 003). It appears the 002 models have a Novatel LCD while most of the newer ones feature an Epson LCD, although I’ve seen reports of these being mixed. To check your model just navigate to Settings > About phone > Hardware Information > Hardware version.

    I'm wondering if Sprint is going to charge $10 for 4G on the Galaxy too... If its 4G capable, I wouldn't be surprised.
    In a world that doesn't... Droid Does

    I've made my share of mistakes, and I'm sure you have too. Please don't make small errors on here larger than they need to be. Everything will be alright in the world, regardless of what I've said.

    yeah, they will. I spoke with one of the representative at sprint store and told me they would tag on the 10 dollar charge on it. Even though they dont have 4g coverage in my area (bay area, california)

    I wouldn't consider the 5MP camera on the Samsung a "con." I'd almost be willing to bet money that it will take better pictures than the 8MP camera on the HTC.

    Personally I think the 4.3" screen on the HTC is too big.

    Though I can't speak for these models specifically, I've found Samsung phones to be quite durable and have excellent call quality.

    I think you need to go try them out and make the decision, but if it were me I'd probably go with the Sammy. I'd need to go try them out first too though.

    I got the Evo a few days ago and love it. There's been no issue with battery life, as the phone (which I turn off every night) lasts me over 16 hours before it dies. The phone gets constant use. There's no 4G in my area either (Charleston, SC metro area) but it still has plenty of speed behind it. The extra 10 bucks a month is a little annoying, but what's 10 bucks over 30 days? I waste that on soda or other things in a week!

    The Sprint Galaxy S is just terrible to look at. So much screen real estate, yet they add a tacky slide out keyboard. Makes it look like a tween texting phone.

    No touchscreen device is "durable". If you drop a Galaxy S, or an Evo from more than 4 feet up...it's toast. Call quality is usually pretty good on both devices though.

    The epic4g has better specs but its a slider which is fail imo. I had a droid so I know what its like to have a slider. I would rather have the evo.

    I hate the fact that sprint got suck with a slider version of the galaxy s. I would love another android on sprint but can't stand the size of the 4g. Just have to wait for the next one I guess.

    I prefer the EVO... but I also dislike sliders.
