I'm new to the world of Android, I just purchased a used Motorola Droid from the Crakberry Market place. The guy selling it said it was running a optimized 2.1 build (whatever that means) but my question is how do you tell if it is rooted? When I go to the phone info it says build number : bugless beast 0.7, firmware version : 2.1, Kernel verison : 2.6.29-omap1-gb5cd919android-build@apa26#1.....Can someone help me here??
There really is no specific place to get them. Just check out like androidforums.com and search around google from there. I just rooted my phone and added the smoked glass rom last night(1st time rooting).
I didnt perform a backup cause I dont have alot of apps and its easy to set it back up. Next time I will use the nandroid backup before loading the roms, etc..
If you use rom manager, it will give you the option to back up everything before loading the new rom. There are also images of the factory roms that you can load if you ever need to get back to stock.
Nevermind....I checked out androidforums.com and they have pretty much everything I need there. I still dont know if I understand it but they have a lot of material there. Thanks to everyone for there input.
