Default Help me decide what to do with a September upgrade

So my contract is up in september, which since I'm in the UK means that it'll likely be more than 6 months before BB10 manages to paddle across to here. My problem is that my 9800 is getting pretty old now, and while I was willing to wait for Christmas to get a new BB, I am decidedly not happy about waiting until maybe this time next year.

So I'm probably going to get a new device to play with in the intervening time and keep my 9800 for BBM etc. The question here is this: Which device should it be ? Or should I even bother ?

Android is the only conceivable way that I can go, so thats why I'm posting here, obviously. I've had an on and off relationship with android (I went from BB9000 to Galaxy S to BB9800, the Galaxy my GF now has and I keep my hand in by flashing roms onto it when I get bored as well as fixing, flashing, unbricking and updating various tablets and phones for friends and neighbors) and from my point of view its certainly the lesser of three evils. I am cool with android as a platform. But I've lost touch with new devices and such, and I'm wondering what device would be worth picking up sept/oct in the UK ? Oh and massive priority is given to any device with a portrait QWERTY followed by landscape QWERTY (if I must) because I hate HATE HATE trying to write anything on a touch screen.

Now, on the flipside (the should I even bother side) is that I'm not certain if I'll even actually use a new device enough to make it worth burning an upgrade on. I have a playbook, so all the 'awesome mobile videoness' of a 4.3inch display is kinda lost on me, as is a more exciting and fully featured web browser. Even when I was hardcore into my galaxy S, the real fun I had with it was dicking around with XDA stuff and very little from actually using it as a phone.

So yes, any suggestions on what android phone would work well for me (touchscreen only = very very bad) or if I should just be depressed and pout and await BB10 like a stood up 16 year old girl.

As a fun (and for the time being hypothetical) aside, pretend I'm asking where to go on the assumption that BB10 never actually arrives.

Why are you posting to a BB board about going to Android???? I will never figure out why people continue to do this.... How about doing some leg work.... As we do not know you and what you like... All you will get is what you like.... On that note.... I have a 9800 and all keep it as long as it does what I want.... I do not buy new just because it is there.... Good luck with whatever choice you make.....

I don't know what all you have available there in the UK, but if you have these, any of them would make a fine upgrade:

    HTC One X
    HTC One S
    HTC One V
    Samsung Galaxy S3 (I9300)
    Samsung Galaxy S2 (I9100)
    Samsung Galaxy S2 LTE (SHV-E120S)
    Samsung Galaxy Note (GT-N7000, I9220)
Samsung Galaxy Nexus - if available
Sony Ion (Xperia ion LTE lt28i)
