the Direct Dial and Direct Message shortcut options when you long press the homescreen and select Shortcuts? WTF?

I am using Launcher Pro on my X, but I have Launcher Pro on my Droid 1 and I still have those two shortcut options on it.

Interesting. Better Cut definitely seems to solve that issue.

Still, we shouldn't have to buy a $2 app to give us a function that is there in plain vanilla Android.

I found a way to get a Direct Dial shortcut using the free app Folder Organizer Lite. Long press the homescreen (or setup in Launcher Pro Dock) and select Shortcut, Folder Organizer Item, Direct Call, choose from your contact list.

But now, I noticed that I can't choose a Folder Organizer Label (folder) from the Shortcut menu on the Droid X. This phone is pretty messed up... I returned the Fascinate because Samsung/Verizon messed the OS up and introduced bugs in the process, now it seems the X isn't much better with Verizon/Motorola and Blur.

Edit: NVM about the missing Folder Organizer Label shortcut option. It is there, only it's called Folder Organizer Folder Link now...

Does it work ok with the X? It messed up my Droid 1 before, and I had to flash an sbf file to recover it.

Yes, it does. I have the D2, but my friend has the X and that is what he used. They also have a video on YouTube, here it is...

    That does sound tempting...

Considering I didn't take yesterday off, it was my wedding anniversary... they owe me one.

Just rooted with Easy Root, good thing my key purchased while I was on the Droid 1 still works.

Woohoo, Titanium Backup, ROM Manager, CW Mod Recovery installed.

The Backup function doesn't work. I can't get into CW Mod Recovery.

Edit: NVM, I see that I need to install Bootstrap to boot into recovery.
