Yes, I don't root or I suppose I would have had it sooner. I'm not too excited though. Not sure what it will add. I'm happy with the device as It is except for battery life.

I HATE waiting on carriers for OS updates. They reduce the lifespans of devices -- not to mention they tinker with it and kill a radio or two. So... you wait patiently for the stock update and can be rewarded with broken GPS or 4G.

That alone is reason enough to root.

Or wait to get the device with the OS version you want. I made that mistake when I got the Vibrant with 2.1 with the promise that it would be updated to 2.2 "very soon."

I won't install the new OS update until I hear from many that it is stae and bug free. I'm patient.

That's why I love the devs in XDA, actively taking out the fly swatter if you will

XDA is the single most important tool in my life as an Android user. FANTASTIC resource. Those boys and gals are geniuses.

I absolutely love when they have a new update ready to go before the official iteration.
