Which one are you using? I see two of them, but neither seem to be "official", they both seem to be from third parties.
Can someone give a brief explanation of what this is.
Posted from my CrackBerry at wapforums.crackberry.com

It's a Cloud Storage Application. I install the application on my desktop. Copy and paste 2 episodes of "It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia" and 2 music albums in my Dropbox from my PC, and access them from my mobile device, using the Dropbox Android app. It's like a memory card without the memory card.
And it's free?
Yes, basic is 2GB, and my referral link gives you a extra 250MB, bringing it to 2.25GB. Pro 50 is 9.99 a month/99.00 yearly. Pro 100 is 19.99/199.00 yearly.
Also, you could earn a free 8GB of space, the more people sign up using your referral link.
Yeah, there are some apps next to dropbox called droidbox, don't know about them? But the dropbox is official. I like not having to mount my SD card if I want to drop in some new tunes via work or home to then just plug in play. Very sweet app.
Since the 22nd? Wow, wish I would have known that;)
This is nice. Thanks for the info.
Maybe it didn't hit my Market yet, haven't seen the official.
Their website makes no mention either (that I can see).
Maybe this will explain things better? Here is a link to a dropbox blog. I am not sure if someone could make an unofficial dropbox app and call it dropbox? Wouldn't that be some sort of infringement? I would be surprised if it wasn't official since Motorola is proclaiming the app on their face book page. Am I wrong? Here is the blog
The Dropbox Blog Blog Archive The Dropbox Android App!
I have the app and it has an official dropbox copy write symbol (2010) and a link to the official site; however, when I click on the link in the app, it says "sorry, it will be [sic] support in the RC version" So I am not sure if this app is ripping off dropbox, or if one of their devs released a beta? Don't know, but thanks dhendriksen and duvi for bringing that up. I am curious to see what the deal is my self, hmmmph:confused::mad:
oooo, thanks for the heads up
Used your referral SinternetJr.
Thank you reybie :)
@johnly: I think the one on the Market is the fake one, but the real version is coming in a few weeks. I've used it on the Incredible browser, and all of my movies were there. Nothing will beat the actual widget though.
Edit: I've noticed that someone used my referral, but they only joined. You just have to install the app on your computer.
Sinternet Jr, you are probably correct. The dropbox 2010 threw me off. I haven’t used the app until now, but it seems the official dropbox app will have more function ability. I am still using the app, and it is still cool. Can’t wait for the real deal.
The official one was released today, its in the market
Oh, freaking sweet! Thanks man:)
I guess Motorola's face book page jumped the gun when announcing android drop box "official." morfy50, thanks for the update, and I am sure people are going to be excited to learn it is here in the official flavor.....wow, that was fast:)
OMG, the senior droid drop box app is so generic, and without function. I can now upload from my phone...anything....this is convenient. Alright, enough form post ***** me...
I have Microsoft's SkyDrive cloud storage. You get 25GB free as a basic account. I wish there was an app for Android.
I just discovered adrive.com, they give you 50GB free.
ADrive.com – 50GB of Free Online Storage & Backup
Yeah, drop box can be used as back up/storage, but I have a drive at home as I like to keep my stuff on base. The official drop box app to me, is more about wireless syncing a file to as many computer/phones as I want, and to be able to share files/media with select groups of people with a public link. Besides, there are many ways to increase drop box storage size for free.
Can Microsoft's cloud storage sync to an apple, PC, iPhone, Android, and soon Blackberry all wireless, from any one of said devices? Or is that just a Microsoft PC thing? Can you create public links to share in microsoft's cloud? Dropbox is really allot more than storage:D
