I have had my droid x since the second week it was released on verizon. Took a little getting used to but i grew to really like it and prefer it over my tour. I had a problem that the phone was getting very slow and was told that i had too many text messages built up so i deleted all my messages and it was a little faster, but now it seems that with as good of a phone as this is supposed to be i should not have to worry that two weeks of text messages will make the phone lag up to 30 seconds to load a text message screen. What could be making this happen?

Did u try to empty the cache from ur browser. Or do you use some type of task killer to close the apps you're not using.

i use advanced task killer to close apps. Also is there an app that deletes old text messages at a week or 2 week interval?

That explains it. Get rid of the task killer, that should help.

Nothing let Android manage itself. If your DX is still slow, take it back and get a replacement. My DX has worked flawlessly since I bought it on release day. No lag whatsoever or any type of slowness.
