The video review on Youtube from CNET showed that anytime it's tilted the accelerometer will switch between the modes w/o pulling the keyboard out.
Presumably due to the fact they've got the Navigation, Browser and "multimedia future" of the device being touted heavily they're going to want easy breezy switching built in w/o being application "always" controlled.
