That video made me wonder if the Motorola Droid is really what I want... Tough choice!
At least we get to play with both tomorrow, and if the one you choose to go home with doesn't work out, you can bring it back and swap it out for the other.
Not a bad phone, huh? I thought the same thing. The rumor is that 2.0 shouldn't take more than a few months to be ready for Eris. That's because 2.0 isn't compatible w sense ui yet. I'm def hooked on the Droid Eris!
That is tricky decision. I like that the Eris is one piece and has dedicated call and end buttons. The seven home screens is nice but not sure if I need seven. However the "scenes" are really nifty and switches quickly.
I dont know much about android, Is there a big difference between1.6 and 2.0? reliability, speed, and smoothness? Obviously I know the Nav is only 2.0.
I dont know if I can buy a phone that has a lesser OS then the market offers.
Good lord, that is one sexy UI. Best looking mobile phone interface by far, hands down. If only the Droid had that
I'm still sticking with the Droid though. There's no camera flash on the Eris, it's a little less powerful than the Droid, and the browser experience doesn't appear to be as good as a Droid. That UI is extremely nice though. Props to HTC for that.
I'm not entirely sure I enjoyed that video - I shut it down after just a few minutes.
While the Sense UI is GORGEOUS, it's also laggy. What got to me was while he was flipping through the scenes for his work mode, and the screen went black. That, in addition to the lower-end processor, makes me just want the Droid so much more.
The price point of the Eris is $100 cheaper ($199 vs. $99), for whoever was talking about it up above me ^^^^^
By the way, what's the big deal anyways regarding dedicated call and end buttons? Who cares if they're there? By not having them, us Droid users get a larger screen, a true 16x9 viewing screen, and a damn sexy glass screen over the whole phone. Otherwise, it would have been longer (ewww) or smaller real estate (ewwww).
I like how it is. It works, quite well, and it's going to make me happy.
