im thinkng about going to verizon and getting an android phone. ATT just has a TERRIBLE selection of phones. I was wondering if its possible to use google voice on the android phones to call people for FREE without using any minutes. I know it uses VOIP but i wasnt sure if a Verizon CDMA phone could make/receive calls for free with google voice. The reason behind this is because verizon's plans are terribly expensive and would want to call friends on ATT using GV so i dont waste minutes. I would appreciate if someone could clarify this for me. Thanks alot!

I believe it used to be possible on the 900+ minute plan as it has the Friends and Family feature. Google Voice used to use one solid number for calls but from what I heard from others the update changed this thus you're using minutes. I'm not sure if my explanation is 100% accurate, but I do know many complained about the update ruining their "free minutes".
