Ooops. Yup you read that correctly it was breached by @TeamAndirc at the BlackHat security conference. Just goes to show you it's very hard to secure a underlying vulnerable OS with top layer security. Best to have end to end security solutions like BlackBerry 10 phones combined with BES10. Time for another #BBFactCheck?

Looks like someone overlooked something there at the HQ. Took only 5 minutes

I fully expect a statement out of their company's CEO. Think he'll call this a betrayal of their customers, and jettisoning of their credibility?

Blackphone obviously has a long way to go. I'm sure there are more security holes waiting to be exploited. That said, I would like to see hackers targeting BB10 on security conferences like this.

Just the fact that they need to "patch this quickly", is enough to nullify all their aggressive claims and consequently the credibility of their expertise.

Ah well, I guess putting "black" in front of something makes it about as secure as putting the "i" makes it well designed.

Not ever surprised when an Android device gets rooted. It's more of a shock to come across one that CAN'T be rooted.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the only BlackBerry device that was ever rooted was the BlackBerry PlayBook version 1.X while 2.0 was secure.
    BlackBerry 10 was never rooted...

Hell no!!!.Nothing is 100% secure.Yes, bb10 maybe hard to crack or breach but it isnot impossible . The media alone would kill BlackBerry if BlackBerry 10 is breached or cracked

As I see it, it'll be harder, but not impossible. Unless someone at Waterloo was asleep on the job, which appears to be the case with Blackphone.

However, if there's a hole found and BlackBerry fixes it in an OS revision, it'll still take probably months (millennia for Americans) to get it to end users.

he said blackberry is next :S

very fearful since 10.2.2 has to be one of the most secure BB10 OS with secusmart but mostly likely he will be using 10.2.1.
Justin Case is one very smart guy and he has months to crack 10.2.1 before 10.3 goes world wide.
10.2.2 should have been a world wide release not just to Germany.

EDIT: ohh didn't see malingering message my bad

One only hopes no author swaps company names if/when they decide to report it, or that just might come true. I can see someone actually misreading it and dropping in 'BlackBerry' as they type their article.
