I'm really loving my vivid, but I the stock gmail app sux. My device does everything my berry does but this email app is terrible. Can anyone give me a suggestion for a decent email app that will support push and maybe even spell check?

I have both a yahoo mail account and a gmail account. I get push emails from both accounts almost instantaneously on my Dinc2. Make sure you have the push mail option checked in the Update schedule.
Spell check usually comes with the keyboard you are using. I use Super Keyboard and it spell checks when I'm typing out emails.

Really? I think the gmail app is fantastic and it's even better with ICS.
Try K9, that's a popular free one.

My favorite one is Mail Droid. I have my personal and work accounts set up on it. My phone gets my Outlook emails a couple seconds than Outlook on my computer! I only have my personal accounts set up on my blackberry (because my Amaze is my daily driver) and emails on my Amaze come in at the exact same time as my blackberry. Oh, it's free as well.

Maildroid and K9 are great. K9 has more options than ANYTHING BB has.
I use Gmail now, as it works better for my needs.

If you are using Android, Gmail is an absolute must. You must as well push all your emails from other accounts like Hotmail and Yahoo right to Gmail.

I love Mail Droid, though. | K9 is complex. It is based off of the Gmail app, but is on steroids. Folks who crave the unified inbox and BB experience love it.
I thought it had almost too much functionality, LOL. It seemed clunky. My biggest gripe was the download requirement for searching, but that may be fixed now.
Maildroid is way cleaner, and does a great job of aggregation. The pro version was a tad pricey, IIRC.

I can't tell you how many times I've gone to check an alert, something else distracts me, and then I can't remember what alert I was just going to look up, lol.
I might have to re-check out K9 this weekend, even though I need to be researching stuff for work (can you tell I get distracted easily??)

+1 for pushing all email accounts to Gmail. This works the best and is very reliable. Arrives as fast or faster than any of my BB's ever did. Arrives on my phone before my PC. |

Arrives on my phone before my PC. | I'm telling you, this really isn't necessary. You can keep your emails separate and still have them pushed if you use an app like Mail Droid and apparently K9 (I say apparently because I have very little experience w/ K9).

hotmail, exchange/activesync and yahoo are all push ready and no need to use gmail as a middle man. I have my work and hotmail pushed to my stock email client and gmail thru its own stock client

Ok....so k9 or maildroid.....I'll figure out which one. My next question is...if I find one I wanna keep, and I delete the gmail app (to save memory), will all my emails get deleted from the on line gmail client?
