the online vs. B&M issue can be easily resolved, but what is El Goog going to do to address concerns such as low seller margin? Plus, apparently the devices didn't sell well in the online sale either.

While e-commerce is growing, India is still not a country where it's remotely close to the dominant way of selling products--especially low end products like this. I'm surprised the three OEMs--who are local--didn't realize this.

It's a matter of moving to slow also. By the time Android One debuted Moto G/E had already made its place in the market and native companies soon had phones to match: a casualty of having to work with so many partners. Shipping 1 million phones by the end of the year isn't bad its just not much for a company the size of Google.

Great example of not honouring you counties customs... yes things change but if brick and motar is the way Indians like it... Google should have at least tried physical sales and slid into online... reminds me of when Home Depot came to Canada and proceeded to conduct in English only... went over as well as the India experience.....

There was talk that one or more partners were going to offer free data blocks with an Android One phone. Did that ever come to fruition? I'd think that would be a good add-on in country is where Wi-fi is not ever present like Western countries.
