- Accidental PostSlayer of MisinformationThe fascinate does have speed dials regardless of what folks say:
Go to phone and then menu button and tap speed dial setting.09-29-10 04:49 PMLike 0 - Is it a coincidence? Those that say what a phone can't do, never have it listed as their device.....of course speed dial is good to go.....pshhh, haters..10-05-10 08:50 PMLike 0

- I'm afraid you can't. Unless you root your droid... which to me is complicated and I don't want to get into that. Also, there's a chance of your phone being bricked if you try to root. It's not that big of a threat, but why take the risk when everything's good as it is? That's my opinion.12-26-10 01:18 AMLike 0
- Double click the home button goes to voice commands.
Hold the home button and it goes to recently used apps.
Creating folders to for similar apps if you have too many for the screen.
And I really like the shortcut of contact widgets!12-26-10 01:26 AMLike 0 - A tip on swype: say you wanna type "I'll". Whenever I tried to do this I would go from "i" to "l" and it would write "il". Even if I stayed at "l" longer, it would type "il". So, the way I write "I'll" now is to go from "i" to "l" and then move around within the "l" key. That way swype will recognize that I moved from "i" to "l" and "l" again. Hope this helps!12-29-10 05:26 PMLike 0
- You can delete downloaded apps if you go to: "Menu Key/Settings/Applications/Manage Applications". However, you cannot delete system apps unless you're rooted. Once you root, you can delete system them via Root Explorer or adb.12-31-10 06:25 PMLike 0
- Despite some of the questions and tips in this thread being a little old..I figured i'd add that while it is required to have "root" in order to delete some of the apps that come on your phone's, you do have an option to install LauncherPro (which gives you alot of customization for your "dock" and icons) and then "hide" any of these unwanted apps. Sure..they're still on your phone..but this way they can be out of site, out of mind.01-23-11 08:48 AMLike 0
- Suretype for android. I know that you either loved it or hated it, but if you liked the one thumb typing as I did, here is my recommendation. I tried better keyboard first since it seemed to be the most popular. They have nice pictures of the T9 keyboard and it looks great. The word prediction, however is simply awful. It doesn't learn words and as far as I could tell, it has no dictionary much less one that can be edited by the user. So I gave smart keyboard a shot. It is as close to suretype as you can get. Great word prediction and it learns. It has a dictionary that can be edited. As far as I can tell, it may use the native swiftkey database. I do know that it works really well. So for what it's worth, if you are a former strom user, SMART KEYBOARD is the way to go.

- Applying script found on xda would simply makes your phone runs faster..well in my case it does.
Just google up v6 supercharger. My phone is rooted but running on stock rom.
I've tried several custom roms before but there are always bugs. I guess stock roms are way much cooler after applying this script.

The first is a fantastic contacts+dialer app for those of us still stuck on Gingerbread called Contapps. There's a rundown on it here
UPDATE: I uninstalled Contapps, the idiots use push notifications to advertise addons to their app.
The next app is really sweet, it's called Wave Launcher. The name is misleading, it's actually an app that works within your already installed launcher. It's kind of like WebOS where you can swipe from anywhere on your screen, yes even from within running apps and it pulls up a "wave" of apps that you can customize, including recently used apps, shortcuts, apps, and even widgets. All of the above can even be placed in folders on the wave, giving you up to 120 options in total. Totally changes your Android multitasking.
The last is just news. Did you like WebOS? There's a project in the works to be able to run it on Android devices. Pretty cool!Last edited by omniusovermind; 12-12-12 at 02:08 PM.
