could this be what the Mayan doomsday prophecy is all about?
actually they are referring to the end of the world for unspecific software?
We all missed to check on 'that' type of world. the software world.
    man... they are so advanced.
    definitely alien involvement.

This news is probably having a huge impact on Android sales globally.

I agree, when you release predominately new hardware (at least for RIM) coupled with entirely new software (pretty much for the world) its bound to be riddled with bugs and kinks. Where this is sad is that Google has had since the release of Donut to get Android right. I think they got a tad too over-zealous with the release of 4.2. Let's all hope RIM doesn't fall prey to THAT paradigm...

it will be an issue when the Mayan calendar proved itself.
its the end of the world i'm telling u...
that's why they purposely doesn't include December in the calendar. because they know it'll be useless.
and the next update will have no more years to come.

    lol. updates will come indefinitely.

I installed 4.2, on my son's Nexus the other night, and I'm having trouble finding these bugs. It's pretty freakin sweet, and I can't wait to get it, on my S3. Oh, and by the way, most of the ROMs that are out for it, the developers have fixed the December issue. I'm thinking this is just another one of those threads, that has troll written all over it.

Does that mean the world isn't going to end then?

It will end for you, if you happen to be aboard the Death Star, or inhabit the planet Alderaan.LOL

I've flashed 4.2 onto my Nexus S and can't say I'm all that enthused by it. I really see nothing compelling enough about it to warrant using it over 4.1. In fact, I like the 4.1 lockscreen better. The paged lockscreen of 4.2 isn't very convenient in my opinion. Maybe 4.2 is better on the N4, but on my NS it isn't really an upgrade. There isn't any apparent difference between 4.1 and 4.2 other than the lockscreen and camera.

you can remove the other lockscreens and just have 1 so it would be just like 4.1 basically. I do like 4.2 on my nexus 4 more so over galaxy nexus. Cant really say why though lol

Yeah, I tried the Google PlayStore free app, Lockscreen Policy. But I like and use the normal 4.1 lockscreen links - Google Now and camera. The disabling of the 4.2 LS features won't give those links.

I may get used to the 4.2 LS, I don't know. I'll give it more time and see if I can stand it enough to make it usable. The main thing is having a LS link to the camera and I have that with a simple leftward swipe.
