    Is there an Android app like the BlackBerry App, do not disturb? Like it would allow only friends to ring thru but silence all other notifications? I need some sleep but want family and friends to be able to call during the night in case of an emergency.

    Use the priority notification mode, star the contacts you want to be able to contact you

    Try Do Not Disturb in the Playstore . Good things about it. No ads: trial period and then pay maintain premium version. Dev is responsive to questions and suggestions.

    Press a volume button
    Tap Priority
    Tap the Gear icon

    Set your Priority Interruptions, including Calls if needed. You can also specify Calls From Starred Contacts Only here.

    Scroll up, and you'll see Downtime where you can set the times you want Priority Mode to turn on.

    Get your alarm tones in mp3 format, copy those files to your device memory and put them in the folder called notifications, now enjoy your own tones.

    Thank you! Still finding my way around Android. Had very little experience with my Nook HD+. Have always used some form of BlackBerry, whether with BBOS or BB10.

    Go to Notification settings and select Interruptions.
