Last summer when I biked I used endomondo on my HTC. It didn't have ads at all. I downloaded it today and low and behold my once pro version now has ads and is asking me to pay a 7 a month premium. I'm guessing all previous pro users now have to pay monthly.

So, now that that is that. I'd like to know of a good alternative.

What I want is a gps tracker that shows the route I took and the speed and estimated calories.

The dev also created MeeRun for Android and website Meerun.com, to which you can sync your CascaRun workouts. My wife and I have been using it for almost 2 years, and still regard it as excellent.

Biking is my primary use, with running and hiking close behind.

It tracks just about every kind of activity a person would want, along with driving and flying.

If you add a Bluetooth heart rate monitor, the results are even meaningful for indoor activities where distance and speed tracking via GPS are not possible.

I wish fitbit 's heart rate monitoring would support 3rd party apps.
