Just wondering if anyone has any suggestions for a free alternative to Evernote which provides syncing across devices?

I have really taken to Google Keep. But i still wish BlackBerry Remember was on the Priv. It had the best of many other apps. However lacked integration.

I agree, I've been using OneNote since the Evernote announced the changes they will be making.

Seems to work very well across platforms, both traditional computers and mobile.

Not sure what exactly you're using it for but would recommend Google keep as it works from iOS, Android and PC. Reminders, lists, drawings, images and location based reminders.
You can also collaborate with others even if they don't currently use it (provide they have a Google account).
