[QUOTE=JP Barnard;12642702]Whatsapp for Android, currently available in Google Play store, does not run on Cobalt's Google Play for BlackBerry 10.

My BB Classic runs BB 10.3.2.2836 with modifications by Crackberry's Cobalt, in order to run Google Play etc..I have downgraded the BB Android VM to 10.3.2.2813, so as to allow uninstalling Android apps.

    a) The OEM Whatsapp (that is, without modifying the object code, so as to spoof the software ID with Cobalt's Play Services Patcher) complains about not finding Google Play Services and then get stuck in finding my Whatsapp back-up.

    b) The modified Whatsapp (spoofed software ID, using Cobalt's Play Services Patcher and the Whitelist tool, simply complains that the app is faulty when one tries to install it, and quits without installing.

I have the same problem. Do you (or (another person) find a solution?

Let me try and remember the steps... (did not patch the app)

    1. I have opened my Whatsapp (BB version) and then,

    1.1 Go to Settings
    1.2 Select Media Settings
1.3 Select Export conversations for Android (This will save your chats, videos, photos, etc to media card)
1.4 Select all that you want to transfer and click Export.

On media card, there will now be a folder created

    WhatsApp - Databases
    - Media (+5 folders)

1.5 I copied that folder to the Android - WhatsApp folder (created earlier due to post by another member who explained how to get sending of media working by moving files from phone to media card)

1.6 I downloaded Whatsapp via Cobalt's Play store, did the whitelist, installed app to my phone and opened it
1.7 Did the verify via SMS code
1.8 White window pop up saying problem with play services, clicked on screen, NOT OK button
1.9 WhatsApp found backup files and created my profile but no data imported:-(
1.10 Whatsapp working and sending messages but will redo the steps for the media sending problem as it says camera failed when trying to send a photo
1.11 Checked and it's using the folders under misc - android on my device so will need the steps to change it to media card Android folder.
