    It's complicated...
    Thread AuthorThread Author   #1

Default APKs downloaded from Android App stores that are working great!

If you download an .APK from an Android App store (see the complete list) onto your BlackBerry 10 phone and it's working great, you can make note of it here.

Put down the name of the app in your post, maybe a brief description too, and make note of the location of where you found it (which Android app store - Amazon, 1Mobile, etc., provide url if there's a web page link for it too). This will help people find good working .apks.

We'll be watching the thread and compile the data into nice clean lists too.

    Thanks!

    Thanks!

    I tried
    ***FREE***
*Hello proximus! from the 1mobile store and the app works and provides me information on my data usage, bills etc...from my provider, what does not work are the TV replay options and so on, which requires other apps.

URL: Download Hello! Belgacom Proximus 2.5,Hello! Belgacom Proximus 2.5 2.5 Android download | 1mobile.com

PS: Proximus: main carrier in Belgium

    ***PAID***
J* Jamie Oliver app: amazon app store (7.69$)
Starts fine but unstable. Also, I cannot download the media otherwise it crashes

Free Android apps & games download | 1mobile.com

    - Shazaam
    - Candy Crush
    - Instagram

Just go to the site w/ stock browser and tap the DL buttons.
First install will lead to 1mobile app to install.
    So easy ...

P.S: I ditched Amazon Appstore. Some say it can work, never did for me.

Edit: maybe it worth reminding that it is only for those who installed the 10.2.0.1050 leak

    - Candy Crush Saga (Flawless)
    - YouTube (Flawless)
    - Flipboard (Flawless)

    Aptoide:
    - Snapchat (popup issue)

Why would you download YouTube it's already built into BB10? It would be cool to create a CrackBerry APP Store that generates links to known good APK's. With a rating system that if it is reported not working enough times in a row or some sort it removes it from the store. I would be willing to work with a team that tested Android Apps on the new OS. If we had even 100 users willing to go through testing Apps and just do it in an alphabetical order of Free apps so it's legal to start. We could probably get 100 tested apps per user that would be an additional 10k APPS. We would just need a list of the typical apps people complain about and usually want.

This project is already being performed though not by Crackberry. Don't remember where the thread is though

I don't know about other people's opinions, but the android/iOS YouTube app is much better than anything we have native. Probably the only competition would be FastTube (which isn't a completely free app either). It's just personal preference!

Also, some apps that we do have now such as Skype and Flipboard (you'll notice that your android store wants to update these - probably recognizing they're android ports, but can't) are an older version of the app. The most recently updated apps usually hit the iOS/Android appstore(s) first. That's another reason to sideload something that we already have native - to get the latest and greatest

I grabbed the following from Google Play and sideloaded since 10.1.0.1371 on my Z10 the following. All have worked perfectly and are amongst my "core" usage apps (and successfully sideloaded them all on my brother's z30, too):

    - Flipboard
    - Shazam
    - Soundcloud (on the Z30's speakers, this is awesome. My brother often pauses the music on his mac, and just streams SoundCloud via his phone speakers)
    - Evernote
    - Pinterest
    - Tumblr
    - Pocket
    - 500px
    - Google Maps
    - Duolingo
    - Buffer
    - Fancy
    - Wikipedia
    - HipChat (Get a warning on first/intial load, but can be dismissed and rest works fine from there)
    - Rogers One Number (this was actually an awesome surprise. I sideloaded it on my Europe phone, so now I can receive/make calls via my Canadian Rogers cell over wifi/data while I'm overseas)

If they worked on the previous release, I don't see why they wouldn't work just as well now. But I'm about to install the latest 10.2.1 leak and will update if changes or if list grows.

If you don't mind me asking, how did you sideload the APK files? Is it same method as sideloading bar files? thanks.

You need the new leak for it. And no. Apks, with the new leak, can be done directly from your phone.

If you're running the latest 10.2.0, you can sign and sideload them with the bar method.
If you're running 10.2.1, just install the APK directly on the phone.

Can you state where you got your APKs from ?

Personal POV: if not from them, try 1mobile.com. Just use your browser, choose an app as if you were set. store app will install with first app install. Remove previously installed defective app before.
