Seriously! Really seriously.. all android apps launch instantly! In less than 1 second now after the os settled in. I can finally power use android apps and scroll fast on them like I do on native apps.. notifications integration is now here.. accounts are now integrated and share is possible from android to native.. just wow...

All that is great but the very best part is the performance itself .. it's really really smoother than 10.2.1... the quick launch and the smooth scrolling..

Maybe it's an STL100-1 thing. Although improved, my android apps take A LOT longer than 1 second to open. At least five times that long for most. Instagram is pretty quick 3-4 seconds, but most are 5+ seconds still. (STL100-4).

It was kind of like that for me at the beginning, I was shocked when I found they opened that fast the next morning (now).. did you let it settle?
I'm just throwing random apps at it and everything is working great..

And I installed the SDK as core then added the missing bars from 296 not the other way around.. maybe that's why?

It's settled. Installed 296 within a couple hours of availability. Not my daily driver so it's light on apps too.

I'll probably try the SDK/296 version in the next few days. Don't get me wrong, I would love it to be that quick, just isn't happening on my Z10.

I can confirm this... im so loving android runtime on 10.3. it has improved greatly (although i installed runtime from 442 on my 296). Everything runs very smooth. i installed the lastest candy crush saga and cut the rope 2, all installed and played without a hitch.

Aren't you also an STL 1 user? The poster above you wants confirmation from a non STL 1.

BTW, are you sure you installed the latest Candy Crush? Because the latest version requires Google play services to work.

10.3 android runtime is also 4.4 kitkat.

My Z30s instagram launch time from 9 seconds to 2 seconds. Its a huge huge difference.

    Edit 4.3 not 4.4

4.3 not 4.4 yet. Kit kat will be coming to BlackBerry 10 devices in a few months but not too much longer till we have access to kit kat apps!!!!

I guess BlackBerry finally nailed the whole android thing.. I showed it to people and it launched apps and had them ready for use (soundcloud and my university app) faster than my friend's galaxy S3 and S4... the galaxy S5 was faster but that's to be expected (it was really instant) .

That's how it was supposed to be on launch if you ask me.. now there no such thing as an "app gap"

Appears you guys are right. I loaded up sdk and instagram launches fast.

Imagine if blackberry can implement a swipe back like cascades for android.

Another thing for you guys to notice is, blackberry hasn't been getting many android apps in Blackberry world lately. So why are they still aggressively working on android player?? Well...they have something coming for you all!!
