Sideloading Google Maps & Instagram?
I'm picking up my z10 on Tuesday BUT, just wondering, will it be possible to sideload google maps and Instagram?(since they won't be in BlackBerry World at launch)

I read in one of the threads here that the android version of Google Maps works on the Z10 when side loaded. So until there is something official that should work for you. Can't comment on the instagram though, don't recall seeing anything on that just yet.

Instagram comes up with camera errors, maps works great, as does the nav. I'm still trying to get street view to work but cannot convert the apk.
No one has been able to get instagram to work on the playbook so I doubt that a sideloaded version will ever work on the Z10, the official one shouldn't be long. - 02-02-2013, 11:28 PM #16Click here ---->Lendo's .APK to .BAR Thread <---- Click here

My question: Is it legal? Or can we expect Google might consider some action against it in the future?

I don't have mine yet but of course...I have a playbook, you can run multiple apps, switch between them, etc...how ever one thing is that when you switch an andriod app, it gets paused especially when you switch between two andriod apps. I think it has to do with andriods not being able to mutitask..

Thanks for providing the link to the Google Maps BAR file. Loaded it to my PlayBook and it worked really well. Love it. The pre-loaded Bing Maps is okay but this Google Maps app is way better than the Bing Maps app. However, I kind of wonder about the legality of this app on the PlayBook or any BlackBerry 10 device because of the fact that Google didn't officially create a maps app for either the PlayBook or BlackBerry 10.

Seriously thought all I get after installing google maps and trying to load it is a blackberry symbol for 8-9 secs and the app closes. Tried rebooting, uninstalling nothing is working. Worked on my other z10 just as google did when I got it 1 week ago, now I get this replacement and everything is totally F**** up. Google sync gone and I can't sideload anything. WTF is going on
