Sideloading Apps on Z10?
Hi all,
I imagine that there may already be a few threads on the same topic in the forums, but I either really suck at searching or the ones that I did actually find didn't have the information I wanted specifically.
With hopes that your Z10 devices have been superb so far, I have almost decided upon my next device and you guessed it right - BB Z10 is at the top of my list. I already have a couple of very good pricing options here in Pakistan as some network carriers are selling it unlocked for a reasonable price that translates to approx. $612, and a bunch of shops for a tad bit higher. And I also got the chance to play with a device for a bit to get an actual feel of the OS10.
Anyways, my question concerns sideloading applications onto the Blackberry Z10 device. I can figure out the how-to, but am wondering about the usefulness of this. Do side-loaded applications perform to their best capabilities?
I'm not much of a mobile gamer so I'm not concerned at all about gaming. However, I do need certain applications like Viber Messenger (with Voice calls) and some others that may or may not exist on the Blackberry App World.
So... For those out there that are using BlackBerry Z10 right now and have successfully side-loaded Android applications onto the Z10 (not games but applications), how goes it for you?
Regards.

Depends on the app. I sideloaded Flipboard and it runs so smoothly you wouldn't notice at all. I don't sideload games because I have no interest. I'll try Viber.
EDIT...
Just tried Viber but the .bar file did not work for me. It won't start up.Last edited by canuckvoip; 02-19-2013 at 03:37 PM. Reason: addition

I have side loaded at least 50 apps so far and all run fine, just depends on the app, its just like the playbook as the Z10 is a super-mini playbook.

Thanks canuckvoip. If you can post back once you've tried out Viber, I'd really appreciate that. My family is kinda spread across the globe and Viber is one of the easiest/cheapest means of staying connected. It's not a "must" to have it fully operational on the Z10 (and hopefully Viber can release an update for BB10 soon), as even right now I am using a Windows Phone that doesn't do voice calls on Viber and thus have to rely on my iPod Touch for making Viber calls. It'd be something if side-loaded apps work smooth on the Z10 though.
