Default Outside of doing a Security Wipe, is there a better way to clean up PB?

As most of you, I've been sideloading lots of stuff and for the part the PB has been running ok. But lately I've noticed a couple of APK upgrade pop-ups for games that I've never installed and it appears the Android player has been freezing up more then normal. For the pop-ups, does anyone have any idea how to turn that off?

I've been deleting sideloaded apps by pressing and holding then deleting, I've been deleting via the DDPB and I've been doing a combination of the two. Again for the most part I think the apps have been deleted, but does anyone know if there is a way to check 100% that its gone?

As I'm temped in doing a security wipe to clean the device, but then I need to go through the process of reinstalling the upgrade, reinstalling the official BB apps and reloading the other stuff I've collected. So I would be interested in knowing what apps are people running or any other tips/tricks you've been doing to keep the playbook clean and functioning correctly.

    Thanks
    -GG

Before official 2.0 broke root access, I manually deleted old stuff using SSH. Granted, I have a decent understanding of the android filesystem.
Now that there's no root access, there's nothing that I know of that you can use to do this.
