Default Android Application on Playbook - My Converted BAR Files

    Hi,
I Purchased a Blackberry PlayBook only a week back, and joined CrackBerry just today and started researching things and here i will posting list of converted files you can use on your Blackberry Playbook.

Steps to install .bar files i provide on your playbook:
    1. Ofcourse a BlackBerry Playbook
    2. DDPB Installer from here and install it in your PC
    3. Have a USB Cable connect with your PC and PlayBook
    4. Turn On Development Mode by going to Settings -> Security -> Development Mode -> Turn on "Use Development Mode", it will now ask for a password type in a password you will remember, let the "Development Address" as it is (try not to change it to make process simpler)
    5. Now open the DDPB Installer you have just downloaded and installed type in the "Development Address" from your playbook into the "IP Development Mode" and also your password you gave in your PlayBook into the "Password" Filed in DDPB Installer"
    6. Now Click Add and browse for the .bar file(s) you downloaded from my post and click "Select All" and click "Install" wait for a few minutes till you get a dialog saying "Done"

Now The Steps are clear from my next post start dowloading and installing the apps. I would first start with one app and will give regular updates as much as i can in my leisure time, i work as a General Manager for a Development firm so time is a bit less aaahhh...

Step 3 is optional. Sideloading can be done wirelessly.

It will take forever... And by cable is more secure i guess.

But OP, you'll be posting .bar files?

Are those going to be different than the ones Koz posts?

    Where's the first??

Sent from a old but beautiful BB 8520 or a new and shinny PB 2.0

    Unhappy Google Maps

I do wonder when finally we´ll see a version of Google Maps that doesn´t crash as soon as you press the "settings" button in the menu...

Newest version, Google_Maps_6.10.0.bar, hasn´t fixed this yet.
    BB Torch 9810 (7.1.0.861)
    BB Bold 9000 (5.0.0.1096)
    BB Playbook 64 GB (2.1.0.1526)

I'm not sure how this relates to this thread, but Google Maps Version 6.2 or earlier does not crash when entering settings.

You do realize that there is an entire section on here devoted to sideloading and that it is not something new to us..

Have you managed to find a decent list of .bar files that you can downoad from? I have done a couple of searches but seem to keep pulling blanks. any ideas.

    Hi,

I like simple instructions which are jargon free. Excellent.

Will the above work on OS Version 2.0.1.358 if I carry out the above instructions?

    Thank You

Yes. There is one step you can skip above. If you're connected by USB, you shouldn't have to input the PB ip address. Just hit "Scan" and DDPB will input the ip address automatically. Also, one step he missed is, after the ip address and password fields are filled in, you have to click "Connect". You can then install your bar file(s).

Yup. 6.2 is the one to have. It's the most stable and downloads detailed maps for offline use.

    Default Bar Files

Can you point in the right direction to get credible websites for bar files. I am new to this and I am trying to sideload my Playbook. However the last time I tried to access a site, it took me to uncredible web site.
