Default Verizon Doesn't Care

Verizon doesn't care how much you spend on your plan. Between me, my wife, and our broadband access we spend a lot and get no love. They stick to their guns on the upgrade policy.

I'm considering buying out my Verizon contract and going with Sprint to get a Tour

Once you switch over just ask and see if they will let you switch to a Verizon plan at that time. Never hurts to ask!

In my area I'm being switched this weekend from Alltel to Verizon, so that's what I'm going to look into doing. I'm only a year into my 2-yr Alltel contract, but maybe they'll want to get us onto the Verizon plans sooner rather than later and give us the opportunity.

after reading your post again, maybe you have already asked...if that's the case, I guess I shouldn't expect any different. Oh well!

Last week (13 months into my contract) I got out early for $20 then upgraded to a Curve from a Pearl.

I think you should be able to get out for $20 since you've already completed a year of the contract.

So are you saying that we can't upgrade after the switch, until my contract is up?

Its different in every area, so I'd ask in your local corporate store on what is happening your area. If you call Verizon CS, they will know of what their current policy is.

For the 700th time (and sorry, I know not everyone has read all these, but some try to ask the same questions a million times over), check with your local corp stores. Different areas are at different stages in the merger, some stores are dual pos and have options regarding porting.
